About Me
My name is Kaitlyn Mathew. I graduated from Grove City College in May 2020 with a degree in Elementary Education PreK-4 and Special Education PreK-8. I have an add-on certification for Special Education grades 7-12. After graduating, I moved back to my hometown in the state of Indiana and accepted a position as an instructional assistant in a life skills classroom for the 2020-2021 school year. In November of 2020, I covered a life skills short-term maternity leave substitute position. When the teacher who was on maternity leave returned in January, I went back to my original position as a life skills instructional assistant in the classroom next door. However, in May, I was given the opportunity to take another short-term substitute position in one of the elementary Intense Behavior programs in my district. I taught in this position from the first week of May 2021, through the end of the school year.
In the past, I have worked as a swim coach for kids ages 3-14, a lifeguard, and a camp counselor for kids ages 8-18. Additionally, I have had two nanny positions over two separate summers. During the summer of 2019, I nannied for two children, ages one and five. In the summer of 2021, I nannied two children, ages 3 and 7. I love teaching and working with kids. In addition to teaching and work, my hobbies include cooking, baking, crafting, and watching movies with friends.
