Knowledge of Resources
What is Component 1D?
Component 1D is a furthering our knowledge of technology, tools, and other specific resources. This will help educators teach their students effectively with technology that they use on a daily basis and therefore will be able to use to its fullest potential. It will also help the students to better remember the content of the lesson being taught because they are using tools that they are familiar with. If it is not a tool that the students are familiar with, then the teacher is furthering the students' schema with new knowledge.
Why should we practice Component 1D?
Along with furthering the teacher's knowledge, Content 1D also is keeping the students up to date on the newest technology and how it is best used. New technology and tools also enhances lessons to make them more relatable to the students.
Elements of Component 1D:
The elements of Component 1D are as follows: Resources for classroom use, which is when the technology and tools being used matches what the students know. Element 2 is Resources to extend content knowledge and pedagogy. This is when the resources being used not only benefit the student, but also build onto what the teacher knows. The last element is Resources for students. The students should be learning new things about the tools being used. This new technology should not immediately come easy for the student, but it should sufficiently test their abilities.
Possible Artifacts for Component 1D:
Possible artifacts for Component 1D are lesson plans that show use of technology, websites that demonstrate resources, articles written by professionals, etc.
