Augmented Reality
Augmented reality is when something in the real world can be scanned onto a device, where it becomes three-dimensional and interactive. Students can access this augmented reality through QR codes in a Google Form which could be accessed in the classroom or at home. These codes are scanned onto a device to take the student to a link, game, or picture. The instructions I would provide would be for the students would be to scan the codes into their device and then answer the questions to the best of their ability. This activity would most likely be used as review in class after a lesson or as homework. The students will simply have to complete the Google Form while using the QR codes that are embedded.
This artifact fits into Component 3C because it is a great way to keep students engaged and interested in content. It specifically fits into element 1, Activities and Assignments because it can be incorporated into a lesson to keep the students engrossed in what is being taught.
If I could do this artifact differently, I would use something other than a Google Form for the QR codes. I believe that I could have used a different tool that may have been more effective. This relates to growth mindset because it is growing students' schema. They are learning and growing as they experience these new tools that can help better their education. I will use augmented reality in my classroom to teach many different things such as geography, math, science, etc.
