Student Teaching
My first student teaching placement took place in a Kindergarten classroom at Oakview Elementary School in August 2019 and lasted through October 2019. I learned a lot throughout my time at Oakview and was given many different responsibilities while I was there. I wrote a unit plan that lasted the entirety of my student teaching experience in this kindergarten classroom based on a program called "Number Bootcamp." This program teaches students how to write numbers one through twenty. I also worked hard to build a good rapport with all of the students by building personal relationships with each one. Additionally, I utilized technology throughout my lesson plans by utilizing abcya.com as well as a letter identification app called Osmo.
My second student teaching placement took place in a K-5 multiple disabilities classroom at Northwest Elementary School in October 2019 and lasted through December 2019. During my time at Northwest Elementary, I wrote a unit plan soon weather concepts, vocabulary, and safety procedures. I differentiated instruction for all of the lessons that I wrote, attended and participated in IEP meetings, and created hands-on learning experiences for the students. I also reinforced academic concepts through crafts and science experiments.
