Remind 101
I chose to use Remind 101 as my way of communicating with students. This tool is extremely easy to use. All you have to do to use Remind is sign up for a free account, add in your students' emails or phone numbers, and then you are free to send them any reminders they may need. Remind 101 fits into Component 3A because its purpose is for teachers to be able to communicate effectively with their students. Remind specifically ties into element 2 of this component, Directions and Procedures, because teachers must be clear when they send out their reminders. It is a great tool that really promotes turning in work as well as class community. For example, if there was a spirit day at school and I (as a teacher) didn't want my students to forget to dress for the theme, I could send a reminder using this tool. This creates a community within the classroom because the students are all participating in the school's spirit day together.
I love the concept of this tool. It is a great way to make sure students know what is going on in the classroom. I will definitely be using Remind in my future classroom to remind students of events at school, field trips, spirit days, as well as their class assignments. This tool relates to the ISTE standards for Teachers because by using it, teachers are demonstrating their knowledge of technology to their students.
