Padlet
I chose to use Padlet as my Discussion/Poll piece. In order to use Padlet, all you have to do is set up a free account. To create one, you simply choose a theme and type your questions that you want the students to answer. This artifact fits into Component 3B because it is a way to communicate with your students and start academic discussions within the class without actually needing to be in the classroom. This artifact specifically links to Discussion Techniques, which is the second element of this component. This element is all about knowing how to get your students talking. Padlet is a great way to do this because the responses can be anonymous if you want it to be, which would really be appealing to some students who may be afraid of what people will think of them because of their response. If I could change something about this tool, it would be that teachers would be able to give their students immediate feedback on their responses in an easy and effective way. However, I enjoyed how easy this tool was to use. This supports pedagogy because Padlet is helping the students grow and learn and connect with each other while they are doing it.
