Domain 2
Domain 2 includes 5 components. The components of this domain are; Creating an Environment of Respect and Rapport, Establishing a Culture for Learning, Managing Classroom Procedures, Managing Student Behavior, and Organizing Physical Space. Domain 2 is essentially about the classroom environment. Students should always feel safe in the classroom. In addition, there should be a community and a sense of trust and respect among the students and the teacher. Another aspect of this domain is the set of the classroom. Domain 2 says that a classroom should be effective and efficient. It should not be distracting, but instead it should be a place that promotes learning. There should also be rules in a classroom and a teacher should have classroom management strategies in place. This domain is crucial because without it, the classroom would not necessarily be a place where students want to learn. This could effect the whole attitude of the class as well as the teacher, and neither student nor teacher would be in the right environment to reach their full potential. Overall, this domain is about the relationships between student and teacher and how a classroom can effect those relationships and the students' willingness to learn.
